Yet, many people live a very busy life and unfortunately, that means that sleep gets underprioritized sometimes. Most of them do not know the main 7 reasons why sleep is important.
Some people seem to be able to function perfectly just after 4-5 hours of sleep, while others need a least 7-8 hours. Personally, I need 8-9 hours of sleep before I wake up and feel completely rested and ready for a new day. We all know how a good night of sleep feels like. It has been proven that even the smallest lack of sleep will impact your immune function.
This is explained by the fact that insufficient sleep will cause your body to create fewer cytokines. Cytokine is a type of protein in your body, which helps to fight infection and inflammation.

If you don’t get enough sleep the chances of developing diabetes 2 will increase.

More studies have proven that the lack of sleep can cause several negative impacts on your skin.

When you are sleeping your blood pressure will go down. This will give your heart a chance to rest a bit after a long day.
When you sleep for fewer hours during the day your blood pressure in your body stays higher for a longer time during a 24 hours cycle.
Consequently, this can lead to heart diseases, including heart attack and stroke.
